Beginning in 2003 Ascension has organized and facilitated an LCMS National Servant Event each summer. This missional service opportunity gives high school youth a chance to serve children from the surrounding community at a free week-long soccer clinic. An average of 400 children are given a ball, t-shirt, shin guards and an opportunity to hear about the love of Christ. The High school servants spend the week in Bible study, chasing kids all day long then in the evening, they participate in a variety of community service activities.
